Condition & Notes

The iSub is the only item in my collection that is not an official Apple product. However, it was designed by Apple, launched onstage during an official event, and was a popular third-party accessory for Mac users, so I include it as part of the collection anyways.

Originally launched in the fall of 1999 to compliment the slot-loading iMac G3s, the iSub later came as a part of Harman Kardon’s SoundSticks product. Various revisions of this product were sold new until 2020, until finally being discontinued in favor of a newer, partially redesigned version (although still retaining the original form factor).

This unit is in beautiful working condition, and is complete with the original box, packaging, and documentation.

It uses a 3-pin connector similar to the 4-pin layout used by the power supply of the Power Mac G4 Cube.

The industrial design of the iSub compliments the iMac and other peripherals beautifully!

Mac OS automatically directs lower-frequency sounds to the iSub when connected, and it appears in the Sound control panel where its volume can be adjusted.
